Posterior Tilt
Tilt your seat rearwards by up to 50 Degrees, increasing stability and redistributing pressure.
Comfort... optimised.
Power posterior tilt is the most commonly used power function in power wheelchairs. There are many studies around the benefits of posterior tilt, such as;
- Pressure relief
- Gravity assisted trunk control
- Increased stability when navigating hills
- Increased stability when navigating kerbs
What is Posterior Tilt?
All of Permobil's powerchairs have the option of Posterior Tilt.
This power function tilts posteriorly, (or, rearward), without changing the seat to back support angle or the seat to lower leg support angle.
Maintaining the backrest angle when redistributing pressure reduces the risk of shear forces on the back, and ensures that the user can maintain full control of the wheelchair at all times.
