Front Mounted PAD
Front mount PADA Front Mounted Power Assist Device, also known as Power Add-on- is a powered attachment that turns your manual wheelchair into a motorised wheelchair.
Lifting the front castors off of the ground, Front-Mounted PAD's create a trike - meaning you're able to venture on various terrains, and traverse over obstacles easier. -
Rear Mounted PAD
Rear mount PADRear Mounted Power Assist Devices, Also known as Power Add-On - allows you to add power to your manual wheelchair on-demand.
Rear mounted wheelchair power add-on's are usually lightweight, and discreet, attaching to the axle of the wheelchair and providing exceptional power for the occupant or the attendant.
-
Hub Mounted PAD
Hub Mount PADHub Mounted Power Assist Devices, Also known as Power Add-On - replaces your standard wheelchair wheels with specialist motorised wheels that add power to your manual wheelchair on-demand.
Hub-Mounted Power Add-on's are discreet, and offer a variety of control options - including joystick control, or, propulsion assistance.
Benefits of a wheelchair power assist
Using a Wheelchair Power Assist Device can benefit both the user, as well as a caregiver or attendant.
For users, products like the SmartDrive MX2+ or UNAwheel Mini can be independently operated by the wheelchair user, offering relief from some common symptoms of repetitive strain injury caused by manually propelling wheelchairs.
Carer and attendant control wheelchairs can be equipped with the Decon E-Drive, which offers solutions catered to operating the wheelchair from the rear - assisting when pushing the wheelchair uphills, and assisting with control downhill.
